SUBJECT

Coapi Fault Codes in Final Report

SITUATION

After programming using CIP/PROGMAN, one or more of the following CoApi fault codes is displayed in the final report.

CAUSE

A programming abort caused the affected module to respond incorrectly and the CoApi code was created.

CORRECTION

In case one or more of the following CoApi codes are displayed in the final report after a programming abort, proceed as described below. If the outlined procedure does not fix the problem replace the part:

  1. For the following CoApi codes:

    1000,1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005, 1006, 1007, 1020, 1021, 1022, 1023, 1024, 1025, 1040, 1041, 1042,1043, 1044, 1045, 1046, 1047, 1060, 1061, 1062, 1063, 1064, 1065, 1080, 1081, 1082, 1083, 1084,1085, 1086,

    1100, 1120, 1140, 1141, 1142, 1143, 1160, 1170, 1171, 1180, 1181,

    2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2040, 2041, 2042, 2043,

    • Terminate CIP/PROGMAN
    • Disconnect the OPS/OPPS (both the MOST and the OBD connector) from the vehicle
    • Wait at least 10 seconds before reconnecting
    • Start new PROGMAN session
  2. For the following CoApi code:

    7213

    • Using DISplus/GT1, start a diagnostic session
    • Perform a Short Test on the affected module
    • Follow the test plan for the affected control module

    If test plan does not lead to a specific action, replace the control module

  3. For the following CoApi codes:

    2060, 2061, 2062, 2063, 2064, 2065, 2080, 2081, 2082, 2083, 2084, 2085, 2086, 2087, 2088, 2089, 2090, 2099

    • Terminate CIP/PROGMAN
    • Disconnect the OPS/OPPS (both the MOST and the OBD connector) and the battery charger from the vehicle
    • Perform a battery reset for 15 minutes
    • Reconnect
    • Start new PROGMAN session
  4. For the following CoApi codes:

    2002,

    7024, 7025, 7034, 7035, 7044, 7045, 7054, 7055, 7064, 7065, 7074, 7075, 7084, 7085, 7094, 7095,7413, 7414, 7415, 7423, 7424, 7425, 7433, 7434, 7435

    • Terminate CIP/PROGMAN
    • Disconnect the OPS/OPPS (both the MOST and the OBD connector) from the vehicle
    • Check the MOST and the OBD connections
    • Wait at least 10 seconds before reconnecting
    • Start new PROGMAN session
  5. For the following CoApi codes:

    7022, 7210, 7211, 7212, 7214, 7215, 7216, 7217, 7220, 7221, 7440, 7441, 7442, 7443, 7444,

    7900, 7901, 7902

    • Terminate CIP/PROGMAN
    • Disconnect the OPS/OPPS (both the MOST and the OBD connector) and the battery charger from the vehicle
    • Perform a battery reset for 15 minutes
    • Using DISplus/GT1, start a diagnostic session
    • Perform a Short Test on the affected module
    • Follow the test plan for the affected control module
    • Start new PROGMAN session after troubleshooting the control module
  6. For the following CoApi codes:

    7032, 7042, 7052, 7062,

    7412, 7422, 7432

    • Terminate CIP/PROGMAN
    • Disconnect the OPS/OPPS (both the MOST and the OBD connector) and the battery charger from the vehicle
    • Perform a battery reset for 15 minutes
    • Using DISplus/GT1, start a diagnostic session
    • Perform a Short Test on the affected module
    • Follow the test plan for the affected control module
    • Check power supply
    • Check ground supply
    • Check bus signals for the affected control module (refer to SI B61 03 03 for bus diagnostics)
    • Start new PROGMAN session after troubleshooting the control module
  7. For the following CoApi codes:

    7072, 7082, 7092

    • Terminate CIP/PROGMAN
    • Disconnect the OPS/OPPS (both the MOST and the OBD connector) and the battery charger from the vehicle
    • Perform a battery reset for 15 minutes
    • Check power supply
    • Check ground supply
    • Check bus signals for the affected control module (refer to SI B61 03 03 for bus diagnostics)
  8. For the following CoApi codes:

    7219

    • Terminate CIP/PROGMAN
    • Disconnect the OPS/OPPS (both the MOST and the OBD connector) and the battery charger from the vehicle
    • Perform a battery reset for 15 minutes
    • Using DISplus/GT1, start a diagnostic session
    • Perform a Short Test on the affected module
    • Follow the test plan for the affected control module
    • If test plan does not lead to a specific action, replace the control module

Labor and parts replacement associated with diagnosing and repairing CoApi code programming/coding aborts may be claimed under warranty. Be sure to reference SI B09 04 06 in the comments section of your warranty claim.
