Transmission Control System (GS 20): Notes

System is controlled by the GS 20 control module. The acronym (GS) comes from the German word "Getriebesteurung", meaning Gearbox Control. The design, program development and manufacturing of the GS 20 control system is the result of the combined efforts of BMW, Siemens and GM. The GS 20 control module is located in the E box in the engine compartment. See Fig 1 . It utilizes the 134 pin, "SKE" (standard shell construction), modular connector, enclosure. See Fig 2 , Fig 3 and Fig 4 .
