Emergency Detection Of Remote Key

By emergency detection of the remote key the engine can be started or the driving readiness can be established:

• Faulty transmission of signals towards remote key due to external sources.
• Empty battery in remote control.
• Faulty transmission of signals due to mobile phones in direct vicinity of remote key.
• Faulty transmission of signals due to charger in vehicle in charging process, for example for mobile phones.

A Check Control message is displayed when trying to switch on the ignition or the engine. The Check Control message is not displayed if the vehicle was opened mechanically before.

The Owner's Handbook contains instructions for emergency detection of the remote key and for battery exchange.

Start the engine/activation of driving readiness: 

1. Hold the remote key at the mark at the steering column and within 10 seconds
2. Step on the brake and in case of manual gearbox press the clutch as well
3. Press start/stop button

In case the remote key cannot be detected, change the position of the remote key by height and repeat the process.
