Test B: Electronic Brake Control Module/Electronic Brake Traction Control Module (EBTCM) Power/Ground
NOTE:
Data Link Connector (DLC) may also be referred to as Assembly Line Diagnostic Link (ALDL) connector.
- Turn ignition switch off. Disconnect EBCM/EBTCM harness connector. Connect Pinout Box (J-38716). Disconnect Pressure Modulator Valve (PMV) Black C1 harness connector. Disconnect main relay.
- Using a DVOM, measure resistance, in turn, between DLC terminal "A" and the following: pinout box pins No. 1 and 19. See Figure .
- Resistance should be less than 2 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, check circuit No. 803 (Black/White wire).
- Measure voltage between pinout box pin No. 35 and DLC terminal "A". Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage does not exist, check and repair open in circuit No. 1443 (Red wire).
- Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 1 and 3. Resistance should be infinite. If resistance is not as specified, check and repair short to ground in circuit No. 1077 (Tan wire).
- Reconnect main relay harness connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between pinout box pins No. 19 and 34. Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage does not exist, check and repair open in circuit No. 855 (Dark Blue wire).
- Connect a fused jumper wire between pinout box pin No. 34 and DLC terminal "A". Measure voltage, in turn, between pinout box pin No. 1 and the following: pinout box pins No. 3 and 33.
- Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage exists, go to TEST C: PRESSURE MODULATOR VALVE (PMV) ASSEMBLY VOLTAGE . If battery voltage does not exist, check and repair open in circuit No. 1077 (Tan wire). If wire is okay, replace main relay.
- After all repairs are complete, clear codes, and perform ABS/TCS functional check. See ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK .
