Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Vehicle Speed Sensor - Exploded View:

LOCATION:
- RH rear of engine, on transaxle.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
- Electrical Connector.
- Two speed sensor housing cap screws.
- Speed sensor assembly.
NOTE: The speed sensor is serviced as a complete assembly and includes the housing, coil, magnet, washers, wave spring washer and housing cover. The VSS rotor is serviced with the transmission governor assembly.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
- O-ring onto speed sensor assembly housing.
- Speed sensor assembly to transmission housing.
- Speed sensor housing cap screws. Tighten VSS housing screws to 27 Nm (20 ft lbs).
- Electrical connector.
