Section 3 (Remote Keyless Entry System): Testing

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 1993 Chevrolet Caprice, 1992 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser, 1992 Chevrolet Caprice, 1992 Buick Roadmaster, and 1991 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If unlock function is inoperative, but lock function operates normally (passenger doors only), check for an open circuit in keyless entry receiver terminal "D" Black wire. If circuit is okay, reprogram system using a known good transmitter. If unlock function remains inoperative, replace keyless entry receiver.
  2. If lock function is inoperative, but unlock function operates normally (all doors), check for an open circuit in Light Blue wire from keyless entry receiver Black connector terminal "E". If circuit is okay, reprogram system using a known good transmitter. If lock function remains inoperative, replace keyless entry receiver.
