Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

ECT Sensor:

Removal
1. Relieve coolant pressure.
2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
3. Disconnect ECT sensor electrical connector.
4. Carefully remove sensor.

Installation
1. Coat threads with sealant, P/N 1052080 or equivalent.
2. Install ECT sensor into engine. Tighten sensor to 25 N-m (18.5 lb.ft.).
3. Reconnect ECT sensor to electrical connector.
4. Reconnect negative battery cable.
5. Refill lost coolant.
