Test O - EBCM/EBTCM Open Switch Input

  1. Perform ABS/TCS functional check before proceeding. See Figure . Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBCM/EBTCM electrical connector. Connect Pinout Box (J-38716). Fully depress brake pedal.
  2. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 13 and 26. See Figure . Resistance should be less than 3 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, check circuits No. 853 (Light Blue/Black wire), circuit No. 1659 (Light Blue wire) and PMV pigtail for short or open. Repair or replace faulty components.
  3. With brake pedal fully depressed, measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 13 and 26. Resistance should be infinite. If resistance is not as specified, check for short between circuits No. 853 (Light Blue/Black wire) and No. 1659 (Light Blue wire). If circuits are okay, replace PMV assembly.
  4. If all measurements are correct, check EBCM/EBTCM connector for proper terminal contact. If contact is okay, replace EBCM/EBTCM.
  5. After all repairs are complete, clear codes, and repeat ABS/TCS functional check. See Figure .
