DTC U1255, Class 2 Initialization Error: Notes

When ignition is turned on, each module communicating on class 2 serial data line sends a State Of Health (SOH) message every 5 seconds to ensure system is operating properly. DTC U1255 will set only if DTC B1982, B1983, U1300 or U1301 is not current. DTC U1255 will set if BCM requests a message for initialization and following conditions exist:

• Request is not acknowledged after all message retries are sent out.
• Requested information has an internal failsoft value.
• Source ID with desired information is not known.

DTC U1255 will clear when conditions for setting DTC no longer exist or at every power mode initialization.
