Method 1 (No Tool)
- Sit in the vehicle driver's seat.
- Close all the vehicle doors.
- Turn the ignition switch to the run position.
- Press and hold the door lock switch to the unlock position.
- Press the transmitter unlock button. The chime will bong 1-4 times, equal to the current customization mode, to indicate which mode the vehicle is in. Each additional time the transmitter unlock button is pressed, the mode number will advance. A transition past mode four will repeat starting again at mode one.
- Release the door lock switch from the unlock position when the desired mode has been indicated by the chimes. See REMOTE LOCK/UNLOCK VERIFICATION CUSTOMIZATION table.
- Turn the ignition switch to the off position.

GM Tech 2® scan tool or equivalent scan tool may be used to program Remote Unlock Verification. Follow screen prompts and instructions.
