Method 2 (Scan Tool)

The following procedure describes how to customize the remote unlock verification feature using the Tech 2®. This procedure may also be accomplished by using an equivalent scan tool.

1. Connect the scan tool to an applicable power source and the Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Turn the ignition switch to the on position.
3. At the application menu screen, select the F5 (personalization).
4. At the personalization main menu screen, select the F0 (set options).
5. At the set options main menu screen, select F2 (verify unlock mode).
6. After reading the setting options screen, select done.
7. At the set options screen, use the up and down arrow buttons to move the highlighter to the desired option (mode).
8. Select the active options, then select the save options.
9. Press the exit repeatedly until the application menu screen is viewed.
10. Disconnect the scan tool from the accessory power port and the vehicle DLC.
11. Validate that the option (mode) selected was activated by operating that system.
