Method 2 (Scan Tool Required)
In the event that a transmitter is lost, program the old and the new transmitters into the memory of the remote control door lock receiver. Up to 4 transmitters may be programmed.
NOTE:
Once entering this procedure, programing/diagnostic mode, the first transmitter erases all previous transmitters. You must program all transmitters. Program one vehicle at a time. One transmitter could be programmed into other vehicles that are also in program mode in close proximity.
The following procedure describes how to program the remote control door lock transmitter to the remote control door lock receiver using the Tech 2® or an equivalent scan tool. Perform the following steps:
- Connect the scan tool to the following components; an applicable power source and the vehicle Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Turn the ignition on.
- At the application menu screen, select F0 (body control module).
- At the body control module screen, select F2 (special function).
- At the special function screen, select F3 (program key fobs).
- Follow the directions on the scan tool display in order to program to transmitters.
- Press exit repeatedly until you view the application menu screen.
- Disconnect the scan tool from the accessory power port and the vehicle DLC.
- Validate that all the transmitters that were programmed operate properly. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM under DESCRIPTION & OPERATION.
