DTC B1009: EEPROM Checksum Error: Testing

  1. If diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform appropriate diagnostic system check. See appropriate article for malfunctioning system or device.
  2. If code was set by Instrument Panel Module (IPM), go to next step. If code was not set by IPM, go to step  4 .
  3. Recalibrate IPM. See appropriate AUTOMATIC A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING. If DTC B1009 is current, go to next step. If DTC B1009 is not current, system is okay.
  4. Replace module. See appropriate procedure under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  .
