Electronic Brake Control Module: Removal

  1. Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) is located on left side of engine compartment, near strut tower. Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) and EBCM are individual units that are connected. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect EBCM harness connector ensuring connector tab is released by pushing down lock tab and slide connector cover. Disconnect BPMV pump motor ground cable. Label brakelines for installation reference and remove brakelines from BPMV.
  3. CAUTION: DO NOT pry BPMV from EBCM. If seal is damaged, seal MUST be replaced.
  4. Remove 4 bolts from under EBCM. See Figure . Remove BPMV/EBCM assembly from vehicle. Separate BPMV from EBCM by gently pulling forward. See Figure .
