Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Buick Regal and 2004 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: A new sunroof module assembly will not have the sunroof window or sunshade as components of the new service part.
  1. The old sunroof window and sunshade will need to be installed to the new sunroof module assembly.
  2. Remove the sunroof sunshade panel. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the headliner. Refer to Headliner Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Disconnect the sunroof harness from the body harness at the right rear pillar.
  5. Disconnect the front drain hose connections from the sunroof housing.
  6. Disconnect the rear drain hose connections from the sunroof housing.

  8. Remove the 4 sunroof module bracket to side rail bolts.
  9. Remove the 6 sunroof module to roof bolts.
  10. Remove the sunroof module at the actuator bracket bolt (center rear).
  11. IMPORTANT: Use two white nylon locator pins in order to correctly position the sunroof module and temporarily hold the module in place.
  12. Squeeze the locator pins and pull down on the sunroof module to disengage the two locator/retainers.
  13. Remove the sunroof module from the vehicle through the door opening.
