Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Disconnect/Reconnecting Harness Connectors At Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the connectors to the PCM.

    Tighten:  Tighten the connectors to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  2. Install the PCM into the air cleaner housing assembly.

  4. Install the air cleaner top cover.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. The replacement PCM will NOT allow secondary air injection (AIR) pump operation until a total of 16.9 km (10 miles) have been accumulated.
  7. The new PCM must be programmed. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems.
