Installation Procedure

IMPORTANT: Inspect the following areas prior to installing the PCM:
  • No debris in the air filter/PCM housing assembly or the MAF/IAT sensor inlet screen that may distort the air flow.
  • No signs of damage to the air filter/PCM housing assembly or the intake air duct. If a condition is found, replace the components as necessary.

  1. Install the PCM to the lower air cleaner housing.
  2. Install the engine harness electrical connectors to the PCM.
  3. Engage the engine harness electrical connector lever locks at the PCM.

  4. Install the air cleaner upper housing.
  5. Engage the upper housing front tabs to the lower housing.
  6. Engage the lower housing clips (1).

    IMPORTANT: Properly install the air cleaner outlet duct to the throttle body. An improperly installed, distorted or damaged air duct may cause a DTC to set.
  7. Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the throttle body.
    8. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  8. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the throttle body.

    Tighten:  Tighten the clamp to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  9. Connect the PCV tube quick to the air cleaner outlet duct.

  10. Connect the engine harness electrical connector to the MAF/IAT sensor.
  11. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  12. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  13. Program the PCM. Refer to Control Module References .
