Component Test

  1. Inspect the CMP sensor for looseness and correct installation.
  2. Connect jumper wires from the CMP sensor connector 12-volt reference and the low reference to the CMP sensor. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Connect a DMM to the CMP sensor signal at the CMP sensor and observe the Duty Cycle. Pass a steel object by the sensor repeatedly. The Duty Cycle should increment.
    • If the Duty Cycle does not increment, replace the CMP sensor.
