Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Standard) .
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  5. Fold the generator cap (2) aside.
  6. Remove the generator positive cable retaining nut (3) and the generator positive cable (4).
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  9. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  10. Remove the engine lift front bracket. Refer to Engine Lift Front Bracket Replacement .
  11. Disconnect the generator wiring harness plug (1) from the generator.

  13. Remove the 2 generator bolts (3).
  14. Remove the generator nut (2).
  15. Loosen the generator stud (1).
  16. Remove the generator (4) in conjunction with the generator stud (1).
