Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2012 Buick Verano. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the X83 auxiliary audio input.
- Test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 4 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 6 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Ignition OFF, reconnect the X1 harness connector at the X83 auxiliary audio input.
- Disconnect the USB cable connection at the X83 auxiliary audio input and at the X300 I/P to floor console harness USB connector.
- Connect the EL-50334-2 Type A female to Mini B male USB Cable to the X83 auxiliary audio input and the I/P side of the X300 I/P to floor console harness USB connector.
- Ignition ON, radio ON, select navigation using the radio controls. Verify the system does not access the map data SD card.
- If the navigation system accesses the map data disc, replace the console side USB cable.
- Ignition OFF, reconnect the vehicle USB cable to the X83 auxiliary audio input.
- Disconnect the USB cable at the A11 radio.
- Connect the EL-50334-1 Type A male to Mini A male USB Cable to the A11 radio and the console side of the X300 I/P to floor console harness USB connector.
- Ignition ON, radio ON, select navigation using the radio controls. Verify the system does not access the map data SD card.
- If the navigation system accesses the map data disc, replace the I/P side USB cable.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the X83 auxiliary audio input and reconnect all harness connectors. Verify the map database SD card is fully inserted and select navigation using the radio controls. If the map database is still inaccessible, replace the map database SD card. If the map database is still inaccessible, replace the A11 radio.
NOTE:
USB cables and adapters for the following tests are found in the EL-50334-50 USB cable and adapter kit.
