Installation Procedure

  1. If necessary, clean the fuel injector bore in the cylinder head using the EN-47909  kit.
    2. Fig 1: Fuel Rail

    NOTE:

    The fuel injectors must be rebuilt when the rail is removed. Refer to Fuel Rail and Injectors Cleaning and Inspection (LEA, or LUK) .

  2. Install the fuel rail (1) with injectors into the cylinder head evenly.
  3. Hand tighten the 2 outer fuel rail bolts to seat the injector into the injector bores.
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Start and hand tighten the remaining 2 fuel rail bolts. Tighten the bolts in sequence to final torque using the following procedure:
    1. Tighten the inner fuel rail fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the outer fuel rail fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  5. Connect the electrical harness to the fuel rail harness connections.
  6. Install the NEW fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement .
  7. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement (LEA) .
