Installation Procedure
- Lubricate the threads and sealing surface of the NEW fuel rail pressure sensor with one drop of clean engine oil.
- Install the NEW fuel rail pressure sensor (2) to fuel injection fuel rail (1) and hand tighten.
- Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor (2) - Remove @Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly (1)
- Re-lubricate with one drop of clean engine oil.
- Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor (2) - Install and tighten 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connector. (4)
- Cable Tie (3) - Install
- Inspect for fuel leaks using the following procedure:
- Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement - Install
- Engine Sight Shield Replacement - Install
- Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection - Connect
- After replacement of the fuel injection fuel rail pressure sensor, use a scan tool to program and rest functions. Refer to Control Module References .
NOTE:
Applying force to the plastic housing of the sensor may damage the sensor. To tighten or loosen, apply force only to the attached hexagon.
NOTE:
Ensure that the fuel rail threads have been cleaned of any excess fuel, or the NEW fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor will NOT seal properly.
