Installation Procedure

  1. Pre-install the knock sensor (2).
  2. Pre-install the knock sensor bolt (1).

    NOTE:

    The knock sensor connector must be oriented as shown (a).

  3. Position the knock sensor 20 degrees (a) out of horizontal position.
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Tighten the knock sensor bolt (1) to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  5. Connect the knock sensor wiring harness plug.
  6. Install the underbody brace - front. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Front .
  7. Install the engine shield, if equipped. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
