Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the X83 Auxiliary Audio Input.
  2. Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 4 and ground.
    • If 10 Ω or greater 
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in the ground circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • If less than 2 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the ground connection.
    • If less than 10 Ω 
  3. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 6 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate 
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in the B+ circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
    • If the test lamp illuminates 
  4. Ignition OFF, connect the X1 harness connector at the X83 Auxiliary Audio Input.
  5. Disconnect the USB cable connection at the X83 Auxiliary Audio Input and at the I/P to floor console inline USB cable connector
    NOTE: USB cables and adapters for the following tests are found in the EL-50334-50  USB cable and adapter kit.
  6. Connect the EL-50334-2  Type A female to Mini B male USB Cable to the X83 Auxiliary Audio Input and the I/P side of the I/P to floor console inline USB cable connector.
  7. Ignition ON, radio ON, select navigation using the radio controls.
  8. Verify the system does not access the map data SD card.
    • If the navigation system accesses the map data 

      Replace the console side USB cable assembly.

    • If the navigation system does not access the map data 
  9. Ignition OFF, connect the vehicle USB cable to the X83 Auxiliary Audio Input.
  10. Disconnect the USB cable at the A11 Radio.
  11. Connect the EL-50334-1  Type A male to Mini A male USB Cable to the A11 Radio and the console side of the I/P to floor console inline USB cable connector.
  12. Ignition ON, radio ON, select navigation using the radio controls.
  13. Verify the system switches to navigation and map data is available.
    • If the navigation system does not access the map data 
    1. Replace the X83 Auxiliary Audio Input.
    2. Connect all harness connectors
    3. Verify the map database SD card is fully inserted and select navigation using the radio controls.
    4. Verify the navigation system accesses the map data.
      • If the navigation system does not access the map data, replace the A11 Radio.
    • If the navigation system accesses the map data 
  14. Replace the I/P side USB cable assembly.
