Installation Procedure

  1. Position the lower control arm (1) in the cradle.

  3. Install and hand tighten the NEW rear lower control arm rear nuts and bolts (1).

  5. Install and hand tighten the NEW front lower control arm nut and bolt (1).
  6. Support the lower control arm with a hydraulic jack and lift the control arm into a horizontal position.
  7. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Tighten the front lower control arm bolt and nut a first pass to 90 N.m (66 lb ft).
  9. Tighten the front lower control arm bolt and nut a final pass to an additional 75 - 90 degrees, using the EN-45059  meter.
  10. Tighten the rear lower control arm bolts and nuts a first pass to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).
  11. Tighten the rear lower control arm bolts and nuts a final pass to an additional 75 - 90 degrees, using the EN-45059  meter.
  12. Remove the hydraulic jack.

  14. Install and hand tighten a NEW steering knuckle bolt (1) and a NEW steering knuckle nut.
  15. Support the lower control arm with a hydraulic jack and lift the control arm into a horizontal position.
  16. Tighten the NEW steering knuckle bolt and nut a first pass to 115 N.m (85 lb ft).
  17. Tighten the steering knuckle bolt and nut a final pass to an additional 120 - 135 degrees, using the EN-45059  meter.
  18. Remove the hydraulic jack.

  20. Install the stabilizer shaft link on both sides to the strut.
  21. Install a NEW stabilizer upper stabilizer shaft link nut (1) on both sides and tighten the nuts to 65 N.m (48 lb ft).
  22. For vehicles equipped with adaptive forward lighting (AFL):
  23. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  24. Lower the vehicle.
