Removal Procedure
WARNING:

- Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
- Disconnect the fuel tank wiring harness (1) from the fuel tank fuel pump module.
- Disconnect the fuel pipe (2) from the fuel tank fuel pump module. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Install the J-45722 Fuel Pump Locking Ring Wrench to the fuel pump lock ring (1).
- Using the J-45722 Fuel Pump Locking Ring Wrench and a long breaker-bar, rotate the fuel pump lock ring (1) in a counterclockwise direction in order to unlock the lock ring from the fuel tank.
- Raise the fuel tank fuel pump module enough to gain access to the auxiliary fuel feed pipe (1) and disconnect from the fuel tank fuel pump module. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Remove the fuel tank fuel pump module (1).
- Remove and discard the fuel sender O-ring gasket (2).
- If replacing the fuel pump module with a new one, remove the dust cap from the fuel tank pressure sensor. Transfer cover over to new fuel pump module.
