Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Fuel Tank 5Th Bolt Isolator

  1. If installing a new fuel tank install new 5th bolt isolator (1) in the replacement tank. The steel torque limiting spacer can be transferred from the old tank as long as it is not damaged.

  2. Install the fuel tank to a suitable adjustable jack.
  3. Install the fuel tank (1) to the vehicle.

  4. Install the fuel tank straps (2).
    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the fuel tank strap fasteners (1) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  6. Install the fuel tank bolt (1) and torque to 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

  7. Connect the fuel tank filler pipe (3). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  8. Install the fuel tank filler hose (2).
  9. Install the fuel tank filler hose clamp (1) and tighten 4 (35 lb in).

  10. Connect the evaporative emission pipes (1). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  11. Connect the fuel pump electrical connector (1).

  12. Connect the evaporative emission and fuel pipes (2). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  13. Connect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector (1).
  14. Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Install
  15. Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement - Install
  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. Refill the vehicle with fuel.
  18. Cycle the ignition on to run the fuel pump and check for fuel leaks.
