Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning .

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

  1. Fuel Pressure Relief  - Relieve the fuel pressure:
  2. Fuel Tank Draining  - Drain the fuel tank.
  3. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle - Raise and support the vehicle.
  4. Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement - Remove
  5. Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Remove

  6. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector (1).
  7. Disconnect the evaporative emission and fuel pipes (2). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  8. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector (1).

  9. Disconnect the evaporative emission pipes (1). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  10. Remove the fuel tank filler hose clamp (1).
  11. Remove the fuel tank filler hose (2).
  12. Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe (3). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  13. Remove the fuel tank bolt (1).

  14. Place a suitable adjustable jack under the fuel tank.
  15. Remove the fuel tank strap fasteners (1).
  16. Remove the fuel tank straps (2).

  17. Remove the fuel tank (1) from the vehicle.
  18. If replacing fuel tank transfer parts as necessary.
