Installation Procedure

  1. GM4733231

    Battery (1) - Install

  2. GM4733223

    Battery Hold Down Retainer (4) - Install

    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  3. Battery Hold Down Bolt (3) - Install and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
  4. Battery Hold Down Retainer (1) - Install
  5. Battery Hold Down Retainer Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)

    Fuse Block (2) - Install

  7. Retaining Tab (1) - Engage [2x]
  8. GM4733193

    Battery Positive Post Clamp Nut (1) - Tighten 4.5 N.m (40 lb in)

  9. Retainer (2) - Engage
  10. GM4728733

    Battery Positive Cable (1) - Install [2x]

  11. Battery Positive Cable (2) - Install [2x]
  12. GM4729044

    Fuse Block Nut (2) @ Battery Fuse Block (3) - Install and tighten [2x] 16 N.m (12 lb ft)

  13. Fuse Block Nut (1) @ Battery Fuse Block (3) - Install and tighten [2x] 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  14. GM4733188

    Close the battery fuse block cover. (2)

  15. Retainer (1) - Engage
  16. Install the engine control module bracket along with the engine control module to the battery tray. Engine Control Module Bracket Replacement
  17. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
