Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 GMC Acadia Limited, 2017 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2017 Buick Enclave. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate DVD display.
- Test for less than 5.0 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 6 and ground.
- If greater than specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, DVD playing, test for B+ between the entertainment remote enable B+ circuit terminal 8 and ground.
- If less than specified range, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Test for B+ between the battery positive voltage circuit terminal 7 and ground.
- If less than specified range, test the voltage supply circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Test for 1 - 8 V between the video bright control circuit terminal 9, and ground.
- If greater then specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If less then specified range, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Test for 40 mV - 3.0 V between the video mode signal circuit terminal 10, and ground.
- If greater then specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- If less then specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the radio. Test the radio harness connector X3 for infinite resistance between the circuits listed below and ground:
- DVD video signal (+) terminal 7
- DVD video signal (-) terminal 15
- If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for less than 5 ohms between the DVD display terminal 1 and the radio X3 harness connector terminal 7.
- If greater than specified range, test the DVD video signal (+) circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Test for less than 5 ohms between the DVD display terminal 2 and the radio X3 harness connector terminal 15.
- If greater than specified range, test the DVD video signal (-) circuit for an open/high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the DVD display.
- Ignition ON, DVD playing, verify the DVD display operates normally.
- If the DVD display does not operate normally, replace the radio.
