Assembly Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 GMC Acadia Limited, 2017 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2017 Buick Enclave. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Prior to reassembling the strut assembly components, apply a small amount of lubricant to the strut rod and the inside of the jounce bumper. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
  2. Position all of the strut assembly components loosely on the CH-45400  compressor.

  4. Tighten the forcing screw (1) until the front spring (2) is sufficiently compressed.
  5. Use a suitable tool to hold the strut rod and use the CH-42991  socket to install the front suspension strut nut.
  6. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  7. Tighten the front suspension strut rod nut to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).

  9. Remove the strut assembly (2) from the CH-45400  compressor (1).
  10. Install Strut Assembly - Strut Assembly Removal and Installation
