Installation Procedure

  1. For 3.6L LGX:

      Install the battery negative cable (4) to the battery sensor (2).

    2. Carefully install the battery negative cable nut (3) while counterhold with a wrench (1) at the torxpin. Tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

      Remove all dirt, oil and grease from the battery pole (2) and battery sensor (1).

    4. Wide open the battery post negative cable clamp of the battery sensor and install the battery sensor to the battery pole without great force.
    5. Carefully position without great force the battery post negative cable clamp at the bottom of the battery pole as shown in the graphic.

      Battery Post Negative Cable Clamp Nut (1) - Install and tighten 4.5 N.m (40 lb in)

    7. Electrical Connector (2) - Connect

      Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Access Hole Cover (1) - Install

  2. For 2.0L LTG:

      Install the battery negative cable (4) to the battery sensor (2).

    2. Carefully install the battery negative cable nut (3) while counterhold with a wrench (1) at the torxpin. Tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

      Remove all dirt, oil and grease from the battery pole (2) and battery sensor (1).

    4. Wide open the battery post negative cable clamp of the battery sensor and install the battery sensor to the battery pole without great force.
    5. Carefully position without great force the battery post negative cable clamp at the bottom of the battery pole as shown in the graphic.

      Battery Post Negative Cable Clamp Nut (2) - Install and tighten 4.5 N.m (40 lb in)

    7. Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

      Battery Terminal Cover (1) - Install

  3. Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode & Engine - Off
  4. Program the volatile memory. Volatile Memory Programming
  5. Program all of the customer's radio station presets and set the radio clock to the current time.
  6. NOTE:

    Inform customer that the Stop/Start feature will not be available until the vehicle is allowed to sit for at least 3 hours undisturbed.

  7. If diagnosing a stop/start complaint, conduct the battery sensor module learn procedure. Battery Sensor Module Learn  to verify repair.
