Closed Loop Operation

This system maintains an air/fuel mixture ratio of 14.7/1. At this mixture ratio, the catalytic converter operates at maximum efficiency, resulting in lower emission levels. The ECM receives information from the oxygen sensor, enabling it to correct fuel mixture for maintaining an ideal air/fuel ratio.
