Piston Ring, Engine

Replacement rings are available on all except V8-250 engines in standard size and .010 inch oversize. On V8-250 engine, replacement rings are available in standard size only. If piston ring clearance is excessive on this engine, new piston and cylinder liner must be installed. Refer to ``Cylinder Liner, Replace.''

Piston pins are a matched fit with the piston and are not available separately. Piston pins are pressed in the connecting rods and will not become loose enough to cause a knock or tapping until after very high mileages. In such cases a new piston and pin assembly should be installed.
