Chart B1 Ignition Enable Circuit: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1988 Buick Riviera and 1988 Buick Reatta. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Ignition enable circuit activates EBCM to perform self-check. When ignition is turned on, 12 volts are routed from ignition switch through EBCM 5-amp fuse, located under dash near steering column, to EBCM pin No. 2.

EBCM is grounded through pin No. 1 on circuit 450E to ABS ground junction, located inside engine compartment, on right fender side rail. Failure of this circuit will prevent EBCM from activating.
