Failure Detection
Wheel speed sensor faults are detected by the EBCM when the vehicle is driven over 4 MPH (6 kph). The EBCM will check the signal of all four wheel speed sensors when the ignition is turned to RUN position. Once the vehicle begins to move the EBCM can determine which sensor is sending an incorrect signal and will then command the ABS/TCS to shutdown, if a fault is detected. The Red BRAKE indicator light will illuminate and the "ANTI-LOCK DISABLED" and "TRACTION DISABLED" messages will appear on the CCDIC.
