Engine Cranks But Does Not Start

  1. If SECURITY light does not function correctly, see PASS-KEY DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK. If SECURITY light does function correctly, disconnect decoder module connector. Turn ignition on and measure voltage between module harness terminal A3 (Dark Blue wire) and ground.
  2. If voltage is not approximately 5 volts, check circuit and connections between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and decoder module for an open or short to ground. If circuit is okay, replace PCM.
  3. If voltage is approximately 5 volts, reconnect decoder module. Turn ignition on and measure voltage between decoder module terminal A3 (Dark Blue wire) and ground.
  4. If approximately 2.5 volts are present, PASS-Key system is operating correctly. If approximately 2.5 volts are not present, replace decoder module and see PASS-KEY DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK.
