Electronic Brake & Traction Control Module: Removal

  1. EBTCM is located in the engine compartment, mounted to Brake Pressure Modulator (BPM) valve. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner and radiator cover. Remove EBTCM/BPM assembly-to-bracket nuts. Raise and support EBTCM/BPM assembly with wood block.
  2. Disconnect EBTCM electrical connector, ensure connector tab is released. Remove front insulator and insulator mounting bolt. Remove EBTCM-to-BPM bolts. Separate EBTCM from BPM by gently pulling forward. DO NOT pry EBTCM from BPM. If seal is damaged, EBTCM must be replaced. See Figure.
