DTC 11 Transponder Key Problem, DTC 12 Wrong Transponder Key, DTC 14 No Transponder Key Programmed

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Select IMMOBILIZER and turn ignition switch to ON position. Select TRANSPONDER KEY. If scan tool displays TRANSP KEY 1, go to step 3). If scan tool does not display TRANSP KEY 1, go to next step.
  2. Check if scan tool displays NOT PROGR. KEY. If Scan tool displays NOT PROGR. KEY, go to step 4). If scan tool does not display NOT PROGR. KEY, go to step 5).
  3. Select TRANSPONDER KEY STATUS. If scan tool displays KEYS PROGRAMMED, go to SYSTEM CHECK. If scan tool does not display KEYS PROGRAMMED, go to step 6).
  4. Check key for a missing transponder or bad key. Repair or replace key as necessary and go to step 6).
  5. Check if scan tool displays NO KEY PROGR. Key being used is not programmed in theft deterrent module. Go to next step.
  6. Using Tech 2 scan tool, program transponder key code. See PROGRAMMING  . Once keys codes have been erased and reprogrammed, cycle ignition switch OFF and ON. If programming was successful, go to SYSTEM CHECK. If programming was not successful, go to next step.
  7. Check all power and ground circuits. Check for poor theft deterrent module connections. If all connections and circuits are good, replace theft deterrent module and go to SYSTEM CHECK. See THEFT DETERRENT MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
