Self-Diagnostic System: Notes
NOTE:
Diagnostic trouble code tests are written specifically for use with GM Tech I or Tech II scan tools. Generic scan tool can be used, but may have limited functions.
NOTE:
Vehicles with analog instrument panel cluster are equipped with a Climate Control Panel (CCP). Vehicles with digital instrument panel cluster are equipped with a Climate Control Center (CCC). References to CCP also include CCC. CCC and CCP may be referred to as A/C-heater control panel.
Memory Seat Module (MSM) and Memory Mirror Module (MMM) are equipped with a self-diagnostic system, which detects system failures or abnormalities. When a malfunction occurs, MSM or MMM will store a 5-digit alphanumeric Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes have been broken up into 2 systems. Memory seat and memory mirrors systems.
After MSM or MMM DTCs have been displayed, service mode can be used to clear DTCs and exit diagnostics or individually perform other tests on different systems. To exit diagnostic mode, press DEFOG or MODE button on CCP, or turn ignition off. DTCs will not be cleared. System will return to normal vehicle operation.
