Rolling Code

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) uses rolling code technology. This technology prevents a person from recording the signal sent between the transmitter and the Body Control Module (BCM). The transmitter sends the signal in a different order each time its activated. The transmitter and BCM are synchronized to the same signal order. If the transmitter is not synchronized with the BCM, only the fuel door release function will operate.
