Memory Functions

Driver's Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) receives signals from memory function switch. DDSA then sends a message through a simple buss interface to Driver's Door Module (DDM) indicating that a memory function signal has been received. DDM then sends a message to Memory Seat Module (MSM) through class 2 serial data line. Current seat position may be recorded for 2 different drivers. To record a position, adjust driver's seat (including lumbar adjustments) and both outside mirrors to a comfortable position, then press MEMORY SET button. Within 5 seconds, press button 1 (for driver 1). A second mirror and seating position may be programmed by repeating procedure and pressing button 2 (for driver 2). When MSM receives a memory set message, MSM records feedback voltages from position sensors for appropriate driver. Two personalized exit positions can be set by first recalling driver position 1 or 2, positioning steering wheel and seat (except lumbar and headrest) in desired exit positions and then pressing MEMORY SET button, and within 5 seconds, pressing EXIT button. When MSM receives a set easy exit message, MSM records feedback voltages from 3 seat position sensors and recline position sensor for appropriate driver.

When No. 1 or 2 button is pressed, a single chime is sounded through radio to acknowledge signal and MSM receives memory recall message. MSM then applies battery voltage to motors until position sensor feedback voltages equal feedback voltages stored in memory for appropriate driver. When EXIT button is pressed, a single chime is sounded to acknowledge signal and MSM receives an easy exit message. MSM then applies battery voltage to seat motors until position sensor feedback voltages equal feedback voltages stored in memory for appropriate driver. Memory recall will not work if transmission is out of Neutral or Park.
