Removal & Installation

  1. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
  2. Remove driver's hush panel. Remove left knee bolster trim panel by grasping top and bottom and pull rearward to disengage retainers. Remove knee bolster trim vehicle.
  3. Remove bolts attaching steering column to instrument panel to lower steering column. Disconnect steering column module harness connectors. See Figure . Loosen steering column module retaining screw and slide out of bracket.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. After installation, steering column module must be programmed. See STEERING COLUMN CONTROL MODULE  under PROGRAMMING.
