Floor Shift Control: Installation

  1. Install the shift control assembly to the tunnel reinforcement. See Figure.
  2. Install the 4 nuts securing the shift control assembly to the tunnel reinforcement. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the electrical connector (1) to the shift control assembly. See Figure.
  4. Connect the shift lock actuator electrical connector (2) at the shift control assembly.
  5. Perform the following procedures to install the center console assembly:
    1. Position the console on the floor of the vehicle. See Figure.
    2. Install the screws (1) securing the console to the floor. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
    3. Install the console side trim panels.
    4. Install the shift indicator lamp electrical connector (2). See Figure.
    5. Install the shifter trim cover (1).
  6. Install the shift control boot. See FLOOR SHIFT CONTROL BOOT .
  7. Raise and support the vehicle.
  8. Connect the shift control linkage rod to the shift control assembly. See Figure.
  9. Install the shift control linkage adjustment nut finger tight.
  10. Adjust the shift control linkage. See SHIFT CONTROL LINKAGE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
