Engine Mechanical

  1. Excessive oil in combustion chamber-leaking valve seals. See appropriate article in ENGINES.
  2. Inspect for low cylinder compression. See ENGINE COMPRESSION TEST under PRELIMINARY INSPECTION & ADJUSTMENTS in BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES - 4.6L DEVILLE & SEVILLE article.
  3. Inspect the following for incorrect or damaged basic engine parts:
    • Cylinder Heads
    • Camshaft & Valve Train Components
    • Pistons & Piston Assemblies
