Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

1: Determines if the malfunction is present.
2: Determines if the malfunction was due to no map DVD in the navigation module DVD player.

Step	Action	Yes	No
1	Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Navigation System?	Go to Step 2	Go to Diagnostic System Check - Navigation System
2	Turn OFF the ignition. Open, then close the driver door to cancel RAP. Turn ON the ignition with the engine off. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTC. Remove and reinsert the map DVD. Retrieve DTCs from the navigation radio. Does the DTC reset?	Go to Step 3	Go to Step 6
3	Turn OFF the ignition. Open, then close the driver door to cancel RAP. Wait one minute. Turn ON the ignition with the engine off. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTC. Install a new map DVD in the radio. Retrieve DTCs from the navigation radio. Does the DTC reset?	Go to Step 4	Go to Step 6
4	Turn OFF the ignition. Open, then close the driver door to cancel RAP. Allow the navigation radio to cool for one hour. Turn ON the ignition with the engine off. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTC. Remove, then insert the map DVD. Retrieve DTCs from the navigation radio. Does the DTC reset?	Go to Step 5	Go to Step 6
5	Replace the navigation radio. Refer to Radio Replacement (U1R, UM5, UM9) or Radio Replacement (U3Q, U3R, U3S) in Entertainment. Did you complete the repair?	Go to Step 6	-
6	Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTC. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text. Does the DTC reset?	Go to Step 2	System OK
