Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: MAF/IAT Sensor Bolts

  1. If the upper air cleaner housing was replaced only perform the following steps otherwise proceed to step 6.
  2. Install the MAF/IAT sensor.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the MAF/IAT sensor bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 4 N.m (35 lb ft).

  4. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
  5. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the MAF/IAT sensor.

    Tighten:  Tighten the clamp to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  6. Place the lower air cleaner housing over the studs and push down firmly in order to engage the grommets to the studs.

  7. Install the engine harness and PCM to the lower housing.

  8. Install the air cleaner upper housing.
  9. Engage the 3 integral clips (1) on the lower housing to the upper housing.

  10. Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the throttle body.
  11. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the throttle body.

    Tighten:  Tighten the clamp to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  12. Connect the AIR pump inlet hose quick connect fitting to the air cleaner. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .

  13. Connect the PCV fresh air tube quick connect fitting to the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .

  14. Connect the engine harness electrical connector to the MAF/IAT sensor.
