Removal Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Handle the electronic throttle control components carefully. Use cleanliness in order to prevent damage. Do not drop the electronic throttle control components. Do not roughly handle the electronic throttle control components. Do not immerse the electronic throttle control components in cleaning solvents of any type.

  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) fresh air tube quick connect fittings at the camshaft cover and the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  4. Remove the PCV fresh air tube.

  6. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (5) from the throttle actuator.

  8. Remove the transaxle vent hose clip (1) from the shift cable bracket.

  10. Remove the transaxle shift cable clip from the shift cable bracket.

  12. Remove the throttle body bolts.
  13. Remove the shift cable bracket.
  14. Remove the throttle body.
  15. Remove and discard the throttle body seal.
