ECM Replacement

If the engine control module (ECM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:

  1. Capture the Option data.
  2. IMPORTANT: Clear any DTCs that may have set after completing the programming procedure.
  3. Enable ECM Reprogramming-Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
  4. Restore the Option data in the new ECM.
  5. Start and idle vehicle.
  6. Using the scan tool, perform the Turbocharger Learn Procedure. Refer to Turbocharger Learn .
  7. Perform a DPF Regeneration Enable. Refer to Exhaust Particulate Filter Cleaning (LMM DPF Regeneration Enable) or Exhaust Particulate Filter Cleaning (LMM DPF Service Regeneration) .
  8. If necessary, perform the following:
