SERVICE INFORMATION

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

CONDITION/CONCERN

Some technicians may experience failed module programming or difficulty performing certain diagnostic procedures due to the ignition not being in the "Ignition On, Engine Off" mode. The vehicles listed in this PI use a keyless access system with push button start.

RECOMMENDATION/INSTRUCTIONS

To reach the "Ignition On, Engine Off" mode, press and hold the ACC/OFF portion of the Start/ACC/OFF mode button for 5 seconds with a valid keyless entry transmitter inside the vehicle and the transmission in Park (Auto Trans) or Neutral (Man Trans).

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
